The 2nd Japan–Europe Technical Workshop

On March 26, 2026, the 2nd Japan–Europe Technical Workshop was held online with the aim of promoting academic exchange between researchers in Japan and Europe.

Workshop Overview

This workshop series is organized to provide a forum for Japanese and European researchers to share recent research results and to foster future collaboration. The second workshop was held from 16:00 to 17:00 (JST) and included research presentations and discussions on wireless communication technologies.
We were pleased to welcome Prof. Kenta Umebayashi (Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology) as the invited speaker. He delivered a lecture entitled “SIMO Communications with Low-Resolution ADCs,” in which he addressed performance challenges in wireless communication systems employing low-resolution analog-to-digital converters, along with approaches for performance improvement.
In particular, based on issues observed in conventional methods in the high-SNR regime, the lecture discussed the potential for enhancing system performance through signal processing techniques and system design considerations. The presentation led to active discussions among the participants.
This workshop provided a valuable opportunity to further strengthen research collaboration between Japan and Europe.
