Japan-EU Collaboration Launches 6G MIRAI-HARMONY Project
The Nakao Laboratory at the University of Tokyo has launched the Japan-EU joint research project “6G MIRAI-HARMONY,” selected under NICT’s Beyond 5G (6G) Fund Program. This project aims to optimize 6G mobile systems through cross-layer and multi-domain AI integration, promoting AI-native wireless network research and development in collaboration with EU partners.

(JP) 東京大学大学院工学系研究科（研究科長 加藤泰浩、中尾研究室教授 中尾彰宏、以下東京大学）、山梨県富士山科学研究所（所長 藤井敏嗣、以下富士山研）は、2023年10月14日・15日に富士山において、ローカル5Gシステムと商用の低軌道衛星インターネットアクセスサービスとを接続し、山域における情報通信インフラの脆弱性を解消する実証実験を実施しました。

(JP) シャープ株式会社、株式会社KDDI総合研究所、国立大学法人京都大学、国立大学法人東京大学大学院工学系研究科の４者の研究開発成果が、本年9月15日に、「3GPP RAN plenary」にて5G-Advancedの初版として策定されたリリース18の物理レイヤーの標準仕様に採択されました。これは、４者が共同で行った5G-Advancedの標準採択を目的とした無線リンク技術の研究開発や、移動通信システムの仕様を策定する国際プロジェクトである3GPPへの研究開発成果に基づいた技術提案、同プロジェクト内での合意形成推進などによるものです。
